A BIT ABOUT ME

Growing up in city where hip-hop thrived introduced me to the world of rap at a very young age.

When I was around 8 years old I wrote my first set of lyrics and joined the cypher on my neighbor's porch. Being the only white kid in the circle (and the youngest one there) got a laugh at first... but also seemed to earn me some respect, so I continued to practice daily. I fell in love with the craft and I've been doing it ever since.

Many years went by rapping in those cyphers, at parties, around the neighborhood, at lunch tables, or in my room alone.

I spent most of my life thinking I'd someday get to a studio and make actual music, but that day just kept getting pushed back as life moved on. Even so, I never stopped writing and rapping for fun.

I was well into my adult life by the time I finally sat down and decided to make an honest attempt at it. I went from never recording a single thing… to building a studio in my basement and trying to figure it all out at once.

It's been a humbling experience learning how to record, engineer, mix, master, design graphics and visuals, market content, edit videos, distribute music, and all of the other things that go into this kind of endeavor. Doing this 100% by myself took even longer than I could have imagined.

Fast forward to the beginning of this year. After a ton of learning and work I was able to drop my first EP titled “DON’T SIT TOO CLOSE.”

I knew not many people would find it, I was just happy to finally be releasing music. I expected to get 0 plays, and that was the case for the first 6 months.

What I didn’t expect is that in the past 2 months alone I’d go from 0 to over 100,000 total streams, receive countless comments and messages showing support, and that I'd see the start of an actual fan base. It’s truly unbelievable that I finally get to say that.

I made this email list to make sure you know how grateful I am that you’re in my corner. I don't want to fall victim to the music industry, so having a direct line of contact with yall helps keep me safe... (plus I can send out exclusive stuff 💯)
